President Trump announced ten percent tariffs on all imports, along with new reciprocal tariffs that will charge half the tax on foreign goods that dozens of countries are charging on American products. The President called it a "liberation day" that will bring back American manufacturing, but critics say it could raise prices. NBC News' Gabe Gutierrez reports. Val Kilmer, the wide-ranging actor who earned critical praise, has died at 65. As a leading man in roles such as Iceman in "Top Gun" and Jim Morrison in the 1991 Oliver Stone film "The Doors," Kilmber could be charismatic but unpredictable. President Trump discussed Elon Musk transitioning back to the private sector at a Cabinet meeting last month, according to a senior White House official. President Trump has publicly said Musk will leave soon and praised his performance cutting government spending. NBC News' Ryan Nobles reports. Saturday is meant to be the deadline for TikTok parent company Bytedance to sell the platform to a non-Chinese buyer or face its possible ban in the United States. According to a source familiar with the White House led discussions about a deal, Amazon made a late bid to buy TikTok. NBC News' Savannah Sellers has the latest reaction. A powerful spring storm system is threatening millions with dangerous weather from northeast Texas to Michigan. Reported tornadoes have already shredded roofs off of homes and businesses in Missouri. In Memphis, the city is filling up sandbags as they brace for at least 10 inches of rain. NBC News' Kathy Park reports from the storm zone in Memphis, Tennessee. In February, a vile rumor that Ole Miss freshman Mary Kate Cornett slept with her boyfriend's dad spread online. Cornett says she was then flooded with thousands of hateful calls and texts. In an exclusive interview with NBC News' Tom Llamas, Cornett said the rumor "practically ruined" her life. Artist Amy Sherald's first major museum survey is set to open at the Whitney Museum of American Art next week. The groundbreaking exhibit features nearly 50 paintings of contemporary Black American life. NBC News' Antonia Hylton got an early look at her work.
