The mayor of New York says Shane Devon Tamura may have been targeting the headquarters of the NFL when he opened fire at a skyscraper in midtown Manhattan. A three-page suicide note found in Tamura's wallet and reviewed by NBC News contains several references to the degenerative brain disease CTE, which is linked to contact sports. NBC News' Erin McLaughlin reports. The sailboat and barge involved in a deadly collision have been moved from the scene. Authorities say they've launched an investigation to determine what exactly happened. NBC News' Jesse Kirsch reports from the scene. The world's leading authority on hunger said that a ‘worst-case scenario of famine' was developing in Gaza, though stopped short of a formal famine declaration. NBC News' Matt Bradley reports. In Colorado, after two weeks of testimony, closing arguments began in the case of James Craig accused of poisoning his wife Angela's protein shakes. Prosecutors argued Craig researched the poison and planned to kill her. Craig's attorneys allege his wife took her own life. The jury has now begun deliberating. Since ChatGPT burst onto the scene in November of 2022, using AI to write term papers and help with other schoolwork has been a troubling temptation for many college students. Now OpenAI is providing a "study mode" version of the AI tool that doesn't just give the answers, but helps students learn how to get them. NBC News' Savannah Sellers reports.
