In Colorado, former dentist James Craig was found guilty of murder in the death of his wife Angela Craig. Prosecutors said James Craig poisoned his wife's protein shakes. He was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. NBC News Camila Bernal reports. One of the largest earthquakes ever recorded happened off the Russian coast, triggering tsunami warnings from the U.S. west coast to South America. In Hawaii, people clamored to the top of high-rises and a traffic rush headed away from the coast. NBC News' Liz Kreutz reports. In Virginia, police say a suspect confronted city councilman Lee Vogler, doused him with a flammable liquid and set him on fire. The suspect Shotsie Hayes then fled the scene and was stopped by officers several blocks from the incident. Officials say Hayes was taken into custody. NBC News' Garrett Haake has the story. Law enforcement sources say Shane Tamura bought the AR-15 style rifle he used to open fire at a Manhattan skyscraper from a former co-worker for $1400. The sources say that former co-worker also sold Tamura the black BMW he used to drive across the country. NBC News' Erin McLaughlin reports. A divided Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged, despite pressure from President Trump to lower them. It came as new numbers showed the economy grew at a three percent rate, beating expectations. NBC News' Gabe Gutierrez reports. Crews are still battling a fire more than 24 hours after an explosion tore through a plant in Fremont, Nebraska. The Fremont mayor says a father and his two daughters were killed. The cause is still unknown. Johan Marin with our NBC Omaha Station WOWT-TV is on the scene with the very latest. In Washington, the NTSB is in the middle of a three-day investigative hearing into last January's midair crash between an army helicopter and an American Airlines regional jet. Investigators revealed the chopper pilots may not have known they were flying too high because a critical piece of equipment was malfunctioning. NBC News' Tom Costello reports. In Los Angeles, police are warning that robbers are mimicking the techniques of South American crime rings to break into people's homes. NBC News' Sam Brock reports on what steps people can take to protect their homes. There is good news tonight for 13-year-old Liam Woodworth from Indiana who had the opportunity to join the Chicago Bears for a day. The teenager, who has a congenital heart condition and has undergone multiple heart surgeries, was embraced by the team during their training camp. Adrienne Broaddus on the emotional moment that brought him to tears.
