The Dow closed down and the NASDAQ was up slightly as President Trump threatened new tariffs on imports from China. Despite criticism over his tariffs, the president said they will create a ‘beautiful picture' for American workers and the economy in the end. NBC News' Gabe Gutierrez reports. Heavy rains and flash flood blasts through multiple states, forcing urgent rescues. NBC News' Maggie Vespa reports from hard hit Tennessee. There is growing concern in Texas after a second unvaccinated child dies from measles. This comes as the outbreak has expanded to include five more counties in Texas. NBC's Priscilla Thompson reports on the ground in Lubbock, Texas, the epicenter of this health crisis, as the outbreak worsens. The Office of Personnel Management handles retirement paperwork for the entire federal government out of an old limestone mine in Pennsylvania. The process is set to be overhauled by Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency. NBC News' Garrett Haake got exclusive access inside. Billionaire Trump backer Bill Ackman is among the business leaders who have criticized the president's trade war. NBC News' Christine Romans reports Ackman called the tariffs a mistake and urged a pause in new tariffs. The Supreme Court has temporarily paused a lower court's order to return a deported man to the U.S. from El Salvador. Court documents show the man entered the U.S. illegally in 2011 and the Trump administration said he is an MS-13 gang member, which he denies. NBC News' Tom Costello reports. In Maine, one mother says her children were given melatonin without her permission at their day care. Last year, childcare staff in New Hampshire, Washington and Indiana also made headlines for giving melatonin to children. While parents should consult a doctor, some pediatricians do not recommend melatonin use in kids under age five. NBC News' Vicky Nguyen reports.
