President Trump signed an executive order Thursday aimed at dismantling the Department of Education, arguing that shifting money back to the states will improve student test scores. However, fully closing the department requires an act of Congress. NBC's Garrett Haake reports. Three people were charged with using Molotov cocktails against Tesla cars and charging stations. A federal judge has temporarily blocked the deportation of a Georgetown University researcher, after the Trump administration attempted to remove him from the country. Nearly one year after a container ship crashed into a support pier and brought down Baltimore's Key Bridge, the NTSB says Maryland authorities failed for decades to assess the bridge's vulnerability to a collision. NBC News' Tom Costello reports the NTSB is now recommending 68 other bridges undergo urgent risk assessments, including the Golden Gate Bridge and the Brooklyn Bridge.
