A late winter storm is bringing intense conditions across the Midwest and Plains. At least eight tornadoes have been reported in Central Illinois. And whiteout conditions contributed to jackknifed tractor trailers in Nebraska. NBC News' Maggie Vespa reports from the storm zone. As part of its reshaping of the federal workforce, the Trump administration plans to eliminate up to 80,000 jobs in the Department of Veterans Affairs. Nine million veterans rely on the agency for healthcare, and some vets are concerned it could lead to lapses in critical care. NBC News' Stephanie Gosk reports from Cheyenne, WY, where the office manager at a small VA center dedicated to mental health was fired despite a recent glowing review. Joshua Riibe, believed to be the last person to be seen with missing college student Sudiksha Konanki, has left the Dominican Republic. NBC News' Jesse Kirsch reports from Punta Cana. President Trump delivered on a campaign promise, releasing tens of thousands of pages of documents related to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. They were highly anticipated by conspiracy theorists hungry for new information about the case. NBC News' Andrea Mitchell reports it will take historians months to pour through the files, but it does not appear that there are any bombshells about the assassination. New and some existing Social Security users may have to verify their identity in person if they cannot complete the process using an online portal. NBC News' Liz Kreutz reports the change comes as some Social Security offices close their doors. A federal judge gave the Trump administration one more day to respond to questions about recent deportation flights to El Salvador with alleged gang members, but warned of "consequences" if he learns his order to turn the flights around was deliberately ignored. President Trump said he did not defy a court order. NBC News' Garrett Haake reports.
