Now working as a private investigator, he is trying to forge a life of tranquility and order with his new girlfriend Marja Takala, an independent-minded academic who likes to keep thing simple. But then a kindly antiques dealer hires him to find his missing Estonian wife, which leads Viktor to a high-stakes robbery that appears to be the work of a well-known Estonian criminal.
