Shortly before the end of their time together in Rosenheim, inspectors Laura and Thomas Schmidt have to deal with a mysterious case: a dead man is found in front of their office door. Who is the man? Inspectors Laura and Thomas Schmidt follow the only lead they found on the dead man and come across an accident that happened decades ago. Is the solution to the case really in the past? While the inspectors are investigating, Stockl is supposed to book a room in a boarding house for Thomas Schmidt. He's on vacation soon and wants to go away for a few days. But why does the commissioner need a double room? And for whom is the second opera ticket that Mr. Eighty got him?
