Worst Cooks in America - Season 27

Season 27
Spoiled Rotten

Episodes

Spoon Fed
Chef Anne Burrell and new mentor Tiffany Derry take on a fresh group of recruits in culinary boot camp, and these cooks are spoiled with a capital S! Accustomed to dining out and delivery apps, these sixteen recruits have never cooked a meal in their lives. Anne and Tiffany are ready to transform these coddled culinary novices into actual home cooks, but first they need to see what they are working with. To kick off the competition, the recruits must recreate their favorite takeout dish, giving the chefs a firsthand look at their cooking skills, or lack thereof. Then for the main dish cook, the recruits must replicate the chefs' steak and potato dinner. The cooks with potential will move on, but those who can't keep up will have to move out.

Culinary Cadets
Chefs Anne Burrell and Tiffany Derry have their mission: culinary basic training! Their pampered recruits have ignored the kitchen for far too long, and it's time to learn the basics. Teams face off to collect the most medals in culinary and physical tasks, and the winning team gets an advantage for the next challenge. In the skill drill, Anne and Tiffany task their teams with replicating chicken paillard with salad, and things get spicy when the chefs teach their teams how to make lamb curry. Some recruits can handle the heat, but those who can't must exit the boot camp kitchen.

Deep Sea Disasters
It's yacht week, and chefs Anne Burrell and Tiffany Derry welcome the recruits to the S.S. Worst Cooks! While the recruits are more accustomed to chilling on the sundeck than cooking, this time they have to serve it up below deck and make a trio of seafood appetizers worthy of a captain's table. Afterwards, it's time to get shrimpin' when Anne and Tiffany teach the recruits how to prepare shrimp and grits. Then in the main dish challenge, the teams must break down an entire fish and serve a delicious fish entrée. The recruits are thrown into the deep end, and the least successful cooks will be swimming with the fishes.

Supermarket Speedway
The recruits step into a place they've never been before: the supermarket! Chefs Anne Burrell and Tiffany Derry test their recruits' taste buds to see who can successfully identify ingredients and navigate the supermarket aisles to locate them. For the skill drill challenge, recruits compete head-to-head and prepare tostadas. Then in the main dish cook, Anne and Tiffany teach their teams how to make fresh tortellini from scratch with sauce just like Nonna used to make! The recruits with the best dishes get another week in their basket, but the least successful recruits have to check out.

From Farm to Fumble
Chefs Anne Burrell and Tiffany Derry teach their spoiled recruits that food doesn't come from an app -- it actually comes from a farm! The teams must navigate an outrageous farm-themed obstacle course, which includes milking cows by popping udder balloons, searching for corn cobs in haystacks and lassoing stuffed animals from a pen. Afterwards, Anne and Tiffany task their teams with replicating biscuits and gravy. The training wheels come off in the main dish challenge when the chefs leave the kitchen and have the recruits create an entire composed dish on their own. While some recruits start to find their groove in the kitchen, the least successful recruits are eliminated.

Bake It Till You Make It
It's a party at bootcamp, but the recruits won't be celebrating -- they'll be cooking! Anne Burrell and Tiffany Derry challenge the recruits to throw a fabulous soiree, and the teams must create three appetizers, a signature cocktail and decorate their space to impress the VIP chefs. For the main dish challenge, nothing screams celebration like cake, so the chefs have their recruits bake and decorate their own layer cakes. The best recruits will have their cake and eat it too, but the worst ones will be heading home with no dessert.

Fight for the Finale
Only two recruits can move on to the finale, so the final four play Meal of Fortune, where they spin the wheel and answer trivia questions or perform culinary tasks in order to collect more chef bucks! Then, the teams use their chef bucks to purchase a basket of ingredients for the last skill drill cook. It's a head-to-head battle between the final four recruits as they each cook a composed dish to earn a spot in the final cook. Anne Burrell and Tiffany Derry work closely with their final recruits practicing their three-course, restaurant quality meal, but a surprise special guest pops in and reveals a twist. In the end, judges Matt Abdoo, Andrienne Cheatham and Michael Jenkins taste the recruits' dishes in a blind taste test to determine the winner of the $25,000 prize.
