The fortunes of the Prestons, a family who have been the pillar of the Westbeach community for 150 years, are in decline. The Cromers, with their amusement arcades, nightclubs and caravan park, are prospering. Both believe they know what's best for Westbeach. But between Sarah Preston and Alan Cromer the battle seems more personal than business.

Rain or Shines
Simon Cromer is back from Europe, with worrying news for Alan and Maggie. Meanwhile, Alan and Sarah make different plans for the site of the old holiday camp. And Hugo finds a new job.

For once the Royal Suffolk Hotel is fully booked for the weekend - with an Elvis Presley lookalike convention.

A local journalist digs for dirt at the Royal Suffolk with the aim of discrediting Sarah.

A group of actors moves into Florrie's boarding house, bringing Jan a dose of romance. Meanwhile, Bill comes across a job opportunity with a difference.

Iris and Florrie decide to take life by the horns and live it up at the end of the pier. Meanwhile, Alan and Sarah confront their past.

It's the day of decision for the planning committee. Will Sarah get her covered leisure centre, or Alan his recycling plant?
