Petter W. Schjerven reiser til Mandal for å lære seg mandalittenes eget språk, smoi, et slags røverspråk for voksne. Smoi hadde sin storhetstid på 1930-tallet og ble brukt for å lure tyskerne under 2. verdenskrig. Tilbake i Oslo blir Petter med Otto Jespersen bak kulissene i programmet Rikets røst og prøver å finne ut hvem det egentlig er som skriver tekstene på tv. Atle Antonsen er ukens gjest, og både han og Petter liker bokstavene æøå bedre enn qwzxc.
