Oben ohne, Down Under

The heatwave has Hintervorderbach in Upper Swabia firmly in its grip. But there's no way for the three friends Carlo, BlaBla, Aydin, and Aunt Gabi to cool off. Because the air conditioning in the Brenners' inn has broken down and the refrigeration technician is on vacation, the boys are desperately searching for a pool. BlaBla's idea of turning his farm's manure pit into one is initially met with dissatisfaction. The trio's painful experience is that BlaBla's ideas rarely succeed. Full of energy, BlaBla nevertheless enthusiastically develops the vision of "HintervorderBEACH" and first organizes the sale of the manure to farmer Pius. Aydin is fascinated: shit really does turn into money! The sand for a beach is bought by the same Pius, who immediately reserves his spot by the pool.

The Gilded Age
The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, of huge fortunes made and lost, and the rise of disparity between old money and new.
Against this backdrop of change, the story begins in 1882 — introducing young Marian Brook, the orphaned daughter of a Union general, who moves into the New York City home of her thoroughly old money aunts Agnes van Rhijn and Ada Brook. Accompanied by Peggy Scott, an accomplished African-American woman, Marian inadvertently becomes enmeshed in a social war between one of her aunts, a scion of the old money set, and her stupendously rich neighbors, a ruthless railroad tycoon and his ambitious wife, George and Bertha Russell.
In this exciting new world that is on the brink of the modern age, will Marian follow the established rules of society, or forge her own path?
