Oslo

Richard is joined by actor Fay Ripley for a wintry mini-break in Oslo. Together they pack two days with sledging, screaming, skiing, sculpture and scoff. And despite being a proud half Norwegian, Richard manages to muster a scintilla of objectivity. Richard leads Fay to Oslo's hippest hotel The Thief, home to an art collection that includes works by Warhol, Hirst, and Koons as well as a Bryan Ferry-themed dining room. With the mercury hitting -12, they decide to check out the winter sports options. First they take the Metro to the Korktrekkeren. Built as a bobsleigh track for the 1952 Winter Olympics, it's now Oslo's most popular toboggan run, where riders can hit speeds of 25 miles an hour.
