Mr. Roper thinks the candid diary Chrissy is transcribing is her own.

Jack and Chrissy compete in a test of willpower.

Jack, Janet and Chrissy think that Helen is having an affair.

Janet finds Jack in bed with her visiting sister.

A guru dazzles Chrissy into following him to his commune.

The girls accuse Jack of wanting Larry's fiancée.

Chrissy plans a business trip with her boss.

A 13-year-old who is the daughter of friends of the Ropers stays with them for a few days, and develops a crush on Jack.

Jack and Janet suspect Chrissy is a kleptomaniac.

Mr. Roper's dirty trick prompts his wife to leave.

Eleanor, the girls' roommate prior to Jack moving in, returns for a visit. Jack suspects the girls may want her to move back in.

Jack falls in love with an older woman.

Able to hear the roommates talking through the plumbing while working on his own bathroom sink, Mr. Roper overhears things that make him convinced Chrissy is pregnant.

Chrissy recommends Jack for a catered event her boss is hosting. Janet and the Ropers help him work the event. 

Jack offers to protect Chrissy from a mouse.

Janet and her date find Jack and Chrissy in bed.

Chrissy eats the pie Jack was going to enter in a statewide baking competition.

Roper plans to sell the apartment house as an anniversary surprise for Helen. This  sets off the premise for the spinoff series "The Ropers".

Jack gets angry with the girls and moves out of the apartment.

Jack pretends he lives alone when he falls for a woman he believes is old-fashioned, but it turns out she has a living situation that mirrors his own.
