Episodes

Dan and Brett
In the first episode, it's Dan and Brett's turn to prove themselves with the help of the secret friends. Dan, 32, used to be a gregarious, motorbike riding salesman with the world at his feet. After suffering two massive strokes, he was left blind and unable to walk, and his girlfriend Suzy has spent the last year helping him to regain his sight, speech and mobility.
Although he may look like someone who has fully recovered, when he pushes himself too hard he gets migraines, cannot walk and gets aches and pains down the left side of his body. He also gets anxious when faced with large crowds of people. With a week to go to their wedding, Dan is desperate to support Suzy, but he is worried that if he pushes himself too hard he won't make it to the altar. Dan needs all the help he can get from the sages in the lead-up to the most important day of his life. Will Suzy discover she has unusual guests at her big day?

Dave and Claire
This week the secret helpers share their pearls of wisdom with David, whose family life is in crisis, and Claire, whose stammer stops her from moving on in her job.
55-year-old David needs help reconnecting with his family. Since his dad's dementia has worsened not only has he struggled to connect with him but the family has grown further apart under the stress. He, his wife and daughter eat dinner in separate rooms every night and never do anything together.

Alex and Jonny
This week the secret helpers take on Alex and Jonny, who have major fears to overcome. 31-year-old Alex has been unemployed for two years and is now back living at home with her parents. In a week's time Alex has an interview for her dream job working in a children's activity centre. Alex suffers from anxiety and nerves. There is a lot at stake as getting this job would mean that she can regain her independence. 28-year-old soldier Jonny returned from a tour in Afghanistan after being injured in an explosion. A few months ago, he had his leg amputated and has been struggling to come to terms with a future that is very different than he ever imagined.

Lesley and Lauren
Lesley was married to Roy for 43 years and she was his main carer after he got sick. Four years after he passed away, Lesley feels ready to find love again but this time she would like to date a woman. Can the sages help her come out to her friends and navigate this new unfamiliar world? 29-year-old Lauren started her own restaurant business eight months ago. She is struggling to get customers and has creditors knocking at her door. If she doesn't do something soon she will go completely bankrupt. Lauren has a relaunch party planned in a week's time and she hopes our sages can help her be a better boss and turn her restaurant around.

Mark and Beth
54-year-old Mark is a single father of an 8-year-old son whose wife died two years ago. Since then he has relied on his 79-year-old mother to help with cooking, cleaning and childcare. Mark spends very little time with his son and even when he does, he avoids discussing anything emotional. He wants to start dating again, but the sages make him realise that he needs to work on his relationship with his son and mother first. Will he listen to the voices beaming from the other side of the world? Beth has just finished her exams and is about to begin her first solo week as an A&E nurse, her dream job. She's terrified that people won't take her seriously and that she won't be able to cope under the pressure. Until now she has never been left on her own to treat patients, so if she doesn't prove herself by the end of the week, when she undergoes an evaluation by the head nurse, then she could be sent packing. Can she prove to her boss that she has what it takes?
