Out there, playing in Australia right now is a weekend warrior the AFL recruiters have never seen – a man dreaming of an AFL career. Coming soon is the 10 week series to find out who will be 'The Recruit', the one lucky guy who will win be guaranteed place on an AFL Club's roster. This winter, FOX8 brings you into the locker room and onto the field as we search the country to find the next big thing. Former AFL player and Coach, Mick Malthouse, has signed up to be Head Coach and will be joined by former Hawthorn champion and FOX FOOTY commentator Ben Dixon as Assistant Coach, Port Adelaide's world class fitness guru Darren Burgess as High Performance Coach; and accomplished sports administrator Leigh Russell as Mind Coach. With every episode this series, these sporting heavyweights will put the Recruits through their paces, both physically and mentally, with additional guest stars who will appear throughout the series imparting knowledge and skills. The series will culminate in a live finale in which an AFL Draft will be held, where one player will be granted the opportunity to turn a dream into reality overnight with a guaranteed spot on an AFL clubs list.
