In a rural Japanese town, buyers constantly lineup at a small supermarket run by an 80-year-old couple, who are local celebrities. The customers come here for the home-made traditional Japanese delicatessen. Wife Sumiko starts preparations for the deli at 2 a.m., cooking 100 types of dishes, while managing 35 staff members. Sumiko experiments through trial and error every day to make her dishes better, competing with home chefs. This episode introduces the struggle of a couple who found unconventional ways to compete with a major supermarket.
