The Noughties - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

2000
Angela Scanlon invites comedians Ellie Taylor and Geoff Norcott to join her on a light-hearted look back at the decade that kicked off a brand new century - the noughties.
In this episode, they focus on the year it all started, 2000. Together, they share their memories of celebrating a new millennium – the fireworks, the Dome and the Y2K bug – and the biggest and best of the year's films, music and television. It was the year that the Big Brother house opened its doors for the very first time, Kylie was Spinning Around in her iconic gold hotpants, Victoria Beckham went solo and Anne Robinson became TV's most feared woman, keeping quiz contenders in their place on The Weakest Link.

2001
On this week's Noughties nostalgia-fest, host Angela Scanlon is joined by media mastermind Amol Rajan and brilliant broadcaster Emma Barnett on a time and space odyssey back to 2001.
Their journey takes in all their favourite film and music moments of the year, and covers all the big cultural talking points of the year.

2002
In this latest celebration of all things Noughties, Angela Scanlon invites singer Kimberley Walsh and comedian Dane Baptiste to join her on a trip back in time to 2002.
Together the trio dissect the year's biggest music, film and television hits - trying to answer questions like: why did Michael Jackson dangle his baby out of a hotel window? How did Spooks become the TV's most shocking new show? And what on earth was Justin Timberlake wearing?
On top of all that, there's still time to hail Queen of Hollywood Halle Berry, revisit Will and Gareth's great chart challenge, and get the inside scoop from Kimberley on life as a member of the year's biggest new pop sensations, Girls Aloud.

2003
This week, host Angela Scanlon is joined by former EastEnders actor Nigel Harman and The Mash Report's comedy queen Rachel Parris to revisit the cultural highlights of 2003.
They'll be discussing the year we fell ‘Crazy In Love' with Beyonce and the moment David Blaine took up residence in a box over the Thames.
S-Club 7 became party poopers, audiences fell off their sofas watching Jemini perform at Eurovision, and Madonna was unsure what she liked best - Britain or Britney?

2004
Joining Angela Scanlon this week are Clara Amfo and Dev Griffin, both of whom are stars of Strictly Come Dancing, which waltzed its way into the nation's living rooms for the very first time in 2004.

2005
Angela Scanlon, Russell Kane and Tracy-Ann Oberman explore 2005's film, music and TV highlights, including a new Doctor Who and Paula Radcliffe winning the London Marathon.

2006
Getting their kicks in 2006 are writer and broadcaster Grace Dent and comedian Nathan Caton, who join Angela Scanlon to celebrate the film, music and tv highlights of 2006.
Amongs the items up for scrutiny are: How Take That staged one of pop music's most successful comebacks ever; Amy Winehouse and the huge impact she had here and in America; when Daniel Craig got his licence to kill for the very first time in Casino Royale; High School Musical - too cool for school? Plus if you checked your watch, chances are it was 'Chico Time'.

2007
Angela Scanlon, Cherry Healey and Tyger Drew-Honey find out what pop culture heaven was in 2007. Their exploration includes the first glimpse of a new singing talent called Adele.

2008
Heading back to the Noughties this time are singer Alexandra Burke and comedian Chris Ramsey, joining Angela Scanlon for an examination of all things 2008.

2009
