The Wilkinsons claim that everyone contributes to the running of the household, so why are the parents finding it so difficult to allow the children to take on their normal roles. At the Currans, Jeremy is balancing his busy social life with his new tasks. His parents are pleased, but don't think it will result in a long-term change to their household. The Currans are also expressing their fear that Jeremy is jeopardising his personal growth by staying at home, but they won't force him to leave.
