The House That £100k Built - Season 2

Season 2
Kieran Long and Piers Taylor follow people trying to build a home for under £100k.

Episodes

Wajid and Anam
Anam's baby is due in just a few short months, so it's no longer realistic for her and husband Wajid to share a home with eight members of their family. The pressure is on Wajid's older brother Naim to deliver a new home within their budget - but it's not going to be easy. The house must meet a lot of needs - it must accommodate their extended family, but Wajid also is a local councillor, so at times he needs a public space for entertaining important guests - and to top it all they want a luxurious finish on a par with a Dubai hotel!

Marcus and Sholto
Building a home had always been a dream of Sholto's, but when his partner Marcus had to have a double organ transplant, the couple reassessed what's important in life. Their cramped house in the south of England became a thing of the past and they bought a rural patch of land in Scotland, forty miles east of Inverness, with the dream of building their own home.

Andrew and Claire
Andrew and Claire have ditched their nine-to-five lives and gambled everything on a fledgling free-range egg farm - but having overspent just to get the business going, they are still missing one vital piece ofthe puzzle - a family home.

Jo'ann and Andy
Jo'ann and Andy are attempting to not only build a home from scratch for less than £100k, but also one that will never produce a heating or electricity bill!

Heidi and Steven
Heidi grew up in the idyllic breathtaking countryside near Inverness, but she and husband Steven can't possibly afford a home there. They've decided to try and build one, but their strategy is a risky one. Unable to raise enough savings to secure a mortgage for the build, Heidi's parents have agreed to temporarily remortgage their own home to fund the £70K build cost!

Sue and Tim
Having spent the last five years living in a caravan, Sue and Tim are setting out to prove they can build a low-cost contemporary farmhouse without scrimping on aspiration.

Amandaland
Following three series of the Merman-produced, BAFTA award-winning series Motherland, a brand-new spin-off, Amandaland, is coming to the BBC, focused on Amanda.
Post her divorce, Amanda has had to downsize and up sticks to South Harlesden, or as the Estate Agent calls it SoHa (definitely not the area around Wormwood Scrubs prison).
With both Manus and Georgie now at secondary school, Amanda has to try and get her head around raising teenagers, dealing with modern motherhood horrors like teenage drinking, fake Instagram accounts and eco anxiety. Not even a woman as certain of her parenting as Amanda can deal with these nightmares alone.
Then there's Amanda's mother Felicity who is constantly around, and completely in denial that she is, in fact, lonely. Theirs is a slightly unhealthy co-dependent relationship based on backhanded compliments and veiled snipes about her new home.
After a brief spell of freedom, Anne is sucked back into being Amanda's minion to help her navigate the social scene with the other parents at the children's new school. Thank God for Anne.
