In a news conference from The Pentagon, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Dan Caine share operational details of the United States' attack on Saturday of three Iranian sites tied to its nuclear program. "We devastated the Iranian nuclear program," Hegseth said. After an alarming rise in recent of political violence, including an assassination attempt on Donald Trump, a gunman in Minnesota targeting Democratic lawmakers, and now a man accused of trying to kidnap the Mayor of Memphis, many lawmakers across the country and in Washington, D.C., are expressing concerns about their own safety. New York's Whitney Museum of American Art's new exhibit, American Sublime, features more than 40 of artist Amy Sherald's paintings of contemporary Black American life.
