Gegen den Strom
Hauptkommissar Stubbe (Wolfgang Stumph) und Kollege Zimmermann (Lutz Mackensy) lassen einen lang gehegten Traum Wirklichkeit werden: Sie nehmen sich gemeinsam ein paar Tage frei und fahren nach Dresden, Stubbes geliebte Heimatstadt. Stubbes obligatorischer Besuch in seinem ehemaligen Kommissariat versetzt der Reiseeuphorie jedoch einen schnellen Dämpfer. Nichts ist mehr wie es war. Statt von ehemaligen Kollegen mit offenen Armen empfangen zu werden, trifft er auf ihm völlig unbekannte Gesichter eines jungdynamischen Polizeiapparats. Einzig Günther Jänisch (Peter Prager), letzter verbliebener Vertrauter aus alten Tagen, zählt in einem kleinen Büro am Ende des Flures resigniert die Tage bis zu seiner Pensionierung. Von ihm erfährt Stubbe, dass sein ehemaliger Chef und Mentor, Gerd Pionkowski, vor kurzer Zeit Selbstmord begangen hat. Stubbe kann das nicht glauben und stellt, sehr zum Missfallen Zimmermanns, der eine akribisch geplante Besichtigungstour für Dresden ausgearbeitet hat, Ermittlungen an. Tatsächlich stößt er bald auf Spuren, die einen Mord vermuten lassen, die ihn aber auch mit einem für ihn unrühmlichen Kapitel seiner beruflichen Vergangenheit konfrontieren.
