The 2016 St. Petersburg Bowl is being broadcast live today from Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Miami (Ohio) RedHawks (6-6) are taking on the Mississippi State Bulldogs (5-7).
*The NCAA rule requires a team to have a minimum of 6 wins to play in any Bowl game however since there were not enough bowl-eligible teams at the end of the regular season, 5–7 Mississippi State was given a spot in this bowl because of its high Academic Progress Rate.
