A prostitute approaches Special Constable Bob Loach and asks him to pass on a message to CID. Anjali Shah's Uncle Ram tries to find her a husband.
Episode 3
Solicitor John Redwood becomes a special constable. Colleague Bob Loach responds to a call from an agony aunt.

John Redwood and Viv Smith try to foil a warehouse break-in. Freddy Calder is called to deal with a house party. Bob Loach and Anjali Shah come across a man acting suspiciously in a parked car.

Solicitor John Redwood takes on a legal-aid case involving a teenager accused of steaming. Freddy Calder intervenes in a bitter dispute. Anjali Shah has family troubles.

Freddy Calder is called to deal with the report of a murder. Anjali Shah confronts a racist. John Redwood discovers that his client was an unwilling accomplice in the attack on his son.

John Redwood assists PC Coles with his investigation into some car thieves. Viv Smith is accused of theft by a customer at her building society. Anjali Shah receives a commendation for bravery.

Viv Smith, suspended from her day job, decides to confront the false accusation of theft. John Redwood's client is arrested on suspicion of mugging. Anjali Shah's Uncle Ram has negotiated a fee for arranging her marriage.

Viv Smith and John Redwood are called to an incident in a woman's garden. Anjali Shah helps an Asian man in distress.
Episode 12
Bob Loach and Freddy Calder find themselves looking down the business end of a double-barrelled shotgun. Anjali Shah is forced into an arranged marriage.
