Damaris Phillips and NASCAR personality Rutledge Wood sop up the sauce in Charleston, S.C., as they discover the pleasures of whole hog barbecue with legendary pitmaster, Rodney Scott. Then they are on to one of the best burgers in America, where the meats are butchered in house at the Neon Pig in Oxford, Miss. Finally, it's a feel good lesson in down home cooking with fall-off-the bone oxtail at Addielee's Restaurant in Monk's Corner S.C.

Twists with Genuine Bite
Damaris Phillips and NASCAR personality Rutledge Wood make their way to Treylor Park in Savannah, for their unique and delectable shrimp and grits tacos! They also try the local spin on spicy chicken wings with the peanut butter and jelly wings. Then it's on to Mississippi where Taylor's Grocery whips up succulent catfish served both blackened and fried. And don't forget the, picture perfect hush puppies that are soft on the inside, crunchy on the outside. Fore desert the duo heads to Memphis for a double dose of treats with real fruit-made ice pops and an award-winning chocolate pie.

Southern Comforts Are Just Around the Corner
Southern food gets schooled when Damaris Phillips and NASCAR personality Rutledge Wood indulge in a super-sized fried chicken and waffle sandwich at the hip, nostalgia-inspired Lunchbox Eats in Memphis. Then it's on to Damaris' hometown of Louisville, Ky to chow down on Southern staples fused with Asian flavors at MilkWood. They try their housemade fried pork rinds, watermelon soup, and the chef's pan seared Grouper. Later it doesn't get any more off the beaten path than at Walls BBQ in Savannah, where an indoor open pit is grilling up mouth-watering chicken alongside ooey, gooey mac & cheese.

It's More Southern That Way
It's all deeply flavored fun as NASCAR personality Rutledge Wood and Damaris Phillips head to Savannah, Georgia, for succulent fried oysters dished up in a waffle cone and some homemade ice cream chilled to perfection. Next, the friends descend on Louisville, Kentucky, for a visit to The Silver Dollar, where they can't pass up some succulent hen grilled in a steam bath of beer. Then, Damaris and Rutledge make a stop at Payne's BBQ in Memphis, Tennessee, to fill up on fall-off-the-bone beef ribs and deep-fried sausage.

Life Tastes Better on the Road
Damaris Phillips and NASCAR's Rutledge Wood discover that, at LUNCHBOXeats in Memphis, Southern food gets schooled and transformed into over-the-top, delectable eats. They indulge in a super-sized fried chicken and waffle sandwich at this hip, nostalgia-inspired spot. Next, the road leads to one of Charleston, South Carolina's best eateries, Hominy Grill, for a savory beignet fried up with shrimp and okra. Then, Rutledge and Damaris head to the upscale but approachable Portage House in Jeffersonville, Indiana, for a tender and salty pastrami duck leg served alongside velvety creamed corn.

Southern Fried Georgia
Season finale. Damaris Phillips and Rutledge Wood kick off the most delicious road trip in central Georgia, where the Southern staples shine. They find an unbelievable breakfast at a gas station, where they devour legendary sausages, fried pork chops and lard-filled biscuits. Then, they hit up a BBQ joint in the college town of Athens, Ga. where smoked pork is the star before stopping at a legendary Atlanta institution to see how they've been making fried chicken for generations.
