Snake City - Season 2

Season 2

Episodes

Mamba in My Closet!
Snake-catchers Simon Keys and Siouxsie Gillett face a deadly forest cobra that is hiding out in a tree. The forest cobra is an excellent climber, and its bite could lead to muscle paralysis in minutes — not something you want to experience ever, let alone 15 feet up a tree! But it's all in a day's work for this brave couple. They then respond to a call about a black mamba that has made its way into a man's home. Black mambas tend to get aggressive when cornered. Their venom affects both the heart and the nervous system, swiftly leading to death if you don't get to the hospital right away. But the risk is worth the reward for Simon and Siouxsie. They put their lives on the line every day in their obsession to save snakes.

Panic in the Streets
Simon and Siouxsie are woken up in the early hours of the morning with a call from panicked residents: a very large snake is slithering around their village, eating their livestock. There is only one snake that is capable of taking on large mammals in this area — the southern African python. A big snake like that, capable of killing a small child, is considered to be a huge threat to a community. Simon is concerned that the frightened members of the community will take matters in their own hands and either attempt to catch the snake or, worse, kill it. Time is of the essence, and the snake-catchers know they need to prepare themselves for either outcome. On another call out, Simon and Siouxsie find themselves working to the clock of nature itself. Instead of running into a situation and removing a snake as quickly and swiftly as possible, this time they have to wait: A hungry forest cobra wants to finish its breakfast first.

Ghost Snake

Bed of Snakes
It's midsummer in Durban, South Africa, and for snake-catchers Simon Keys and Siouxsie Gillett, the phone calls are stacking up as people from all walks of life are encountering dangerous and deadly snakes. They receive a call about a giant lizard that snuck into a garden and got into a fight with a dog. By the time Simon and Siouxsie get there, the battle is lost for this monitor lizard, and it has suffered severe injuries. The situation is not good. The two then head off to search for two green snakes that have entered a child's bedroom. It is unusual to have two snakes traveling together, which raises concern for Simon as this doubles the chance of an encounter with a deadly, venomous snake. One of them could be the deadly Boomslang or even the feared green mamba. If either of those were to bite a child, the consequences could be fatal.

Snakes on a Train
Simon Keys and Siouxsie Gillett get their most bizarre job yet, a snake on a train!

Into the Snake Pit
Snake-catchers Simon Keys and Siouxsie Gillett are challenged with a tricky situation, a woman spotted a large snake slithering around in her garage and is having trouble finding it.
