Judge Alicja Mazur's daughter, Hanka, cannot cope with hate. When she loses control of her emotions, only Paweł's intervention prevents her from being expelled from school.

Alicja doesn't want to point out who mutilated her. Such behavior earns respect from inmates, as does knowledge of the law, which builds Mazur's prison authority.
