Season 1

Episodes

Episode 1
This episode hones in on Ferguson's humble Glasgow upbringing, his playing career and formative years in management that culminated with Aberdeen's incredible underdog story and their remarkable victory in the 1983 European Cup Winners' Cup over continental giants Real Madrid.
Former players such as Mark McGhee and Willie Miller reveal the origins of that Aberdeen story and how Ferguson first reaped the rewards of his faith in youth.
That unwavering belief in young players is also explored by revealing interviews with a number of his former players such as Nicky Butt, Denis Irwin and Dwight Yorke, as they look back on Manchester United's thrilling European Cup victory over Bayern Munich in 1999.
This first of two episodes focuses on the formative years of Ferguson's storied career, exploring how and why the son of a Scottish shipbuilder became one of the most influential people in the history of football.

Episode 2
As Ferguson faces intense rivalries with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger and Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, Nemanja Vidic, Michael Carrick, Jaap Stam, Rooney and Ferdinand share their accounts of the post-1999 years and a time of comparative struggle for the Scot.
Those former players, plus fascinating insights from assistant managers and coaches such as Carlos Queiroz and Mike Phelan, help explain how United eventually saw off the challenge of Mourinho and co to return to the top of English, and then European football, for a second time with victory over Chelsea in the Champions League final in 2008.
Behind-the-scenes footage, dressing room anecdotes and unrivalled insight from former players and journalists all provide a fascinating picture into the ferocious will to win and work ethic that saw Ferguson dominate English football across his incredible 26-year Manchester United career.
