Shadow of the Noose is a BBC drama series depicting the true-life cases and personal demons of Sir Edward Marshall Hall, Edwardian London s most celebrated barrister.

From his first murder case in 1894 until his death in 1927, Hall was the most celebrated legal figure of his age. His cases were always headline news and packed the public gallery, but his private life did not bear close scrutiny.
