Sheila and John need to bring the kitchen up to date, Lee and Emma have to makeover their garden that looks like a junk yard, and Rob and Lucy need to refit their neglected bathroom

Gloucester
In Gloucester, three competing sellers snoop round each other's houses searching for inspiration. Amanda arrives with design ideas and £1500; but the homeowners only have a week to make changes. Chris and Abbie must give their garden an overhaul. Maggie and Lee need to lighten up their lounge and lose the caravan cupboards in the spare room. Finally, Paul and Gwyneth need to completely refit their mismatched bathroom. But can they do enough to impress buyer Esther and her friend Stephen?

Chester
In Chester, three owners spruce up their properties. Margaret and Charlotte must bring order to their chaotic detached home. Anna and her dad Mike bid to make Anna's sparse house look more homely. And Pam tries to bring her parents' home up to date. But will the changes be enough to encourage an offer from buyer Daniel and his mother-in-law Ruby?

Greater London
Three competing homeowners in Greater London snoop around each other's houses looking for inspiration. Armed with what they've learned and expert advice from Amanda Lamb, they get a week and ú1000 before buyer Danny comes to view. Dad and son Stefan and Pani bring a feminine touch to the lounge and hall of their blokey home. Patrick and Deborah whip up the wood to inject some Scandinavian cool into their kit-built eco home. And Kate and Chris have to make their cluttered bedrooms as stylish as their elegantly presented lounge.

West Sussex
Three sellers primp their properties as they prepare to sell. The refurbs on show include a modern retro look and some farmhouse chic.

Cheshire
Three rival sellers in Cheshire get design ideas for home improvement. Featuring a Gothic windmill, a chapel conversion and a home that urgently needs some colour.

West Oxfordshire
Three homeowners in west Oxfordshire snoop around each other's houses before Amanda Lamb arrives with design ideas and £1500 to transform their own homes. Tom tackles his lad lounge and transforms his junk bedroom. Tahir and Shahida reconfigure their confused kitchen diner. And Martyn and Kerry turn two tiny bedrooms into a boutique suite. But will they do enough to impress buyers William and Helen?

Liverpool
Three competing homeowners in Liverpool snoop around each other's houses looking for inspiration. Armed with what they've learned and expert advice from Amanda Lamb, they get a week and £1000 before buyer Lilly comes for a viewing. Deborah and Ian tackle their tacky plastic-walled kitchen. Chris needs to liven up the bedrooms in his super-classy cottage. Finally, Annette and Amanda don't see eye to eye about her frilly lounge and Dynasty-style dining room.

Many of these items have incredible stories behind them and a unique place in history: from an accordion played in the Blitz by a woman who is now in her 90s, to a beautifully crafted clock made by a father who was completely blind; a Pinball machine that is currently being used as a kitchen counter, and a Davenport desk with its trademark fake drawers which fooled burglars - and their crowbar.
The Repair Shop is an antidote to our throwaway culture and shines a light on the wonderful treasures to be found in homes across the country.
