At age 11, promising Houston golfer Stacy Lewis was diagnosed with scoliosis, and spent seven years in a back brace, taking it off only to play golf. Then, she faced surgery that would likely end her career-after earning a scholarship to Arkansas. While the school honored the scholarship, she arrived in Fayetteville only able to swing a putter-but went on to become an SEC and NCAA individual champion, and still later one of the LPGA's top players.
