In the ongoing search for cancer treatments, the research world is focusing on blood vessels. Cancer cells require oxygen and nutrition just like any other cells in our body. When we damage our blood vessels through injury, oxygen-deprived cells produce a protein called "VEGF," which stimulates new blood vessel growth.
