Nicky applies for a job as usher at the cineplex that Rachel works at. The boss, Mr. Dimmick likes him and hires him. It's obvious, though, that Dimmick prefers guys who can talk sports with him and he thinks that female employees are second-rate. Nicky is soon made assistant manager even though Rachel is a super employee who has worked hard all summer. Ryan agrees with Rachel that Dimmick is unfair, but when he talks to Nicky about it, Nicky doesn't seem to care. While Nicky is in charge the projector breaks and he has a theatre full of unhappy customers on his hands. Rachel saves the day, though, by smoothly handling the situation. When Mr. Dimmick gives Nicky all the credit, he agrees that Dimmick discriminates against females. With the aid of Katie, Ryan and Nicky find a way to prove to the visiting vice-president of the theatre chain that Dimmick has been unfair to Rachel.
