Yukimura Sanada, born to a lord who owned a small piece of land in Shinsu, survived during the Sengoku period through wisdom, courage and much effort. Wisdom, Courage and Effort made him eventually grew into a much respected samurai warrior.

He constructed a small fortress called ''Sanada-Maru'' during the siege of Osaka. His fortress successfully repelled a much larger invading force of Tokugawa Leyasu.
