Russen (Russians) is a Dutch police series of KRO which was first broadcast in 2000. In 2004, after the fifth season, there were a total of 42 episodes of the series made. Russians was an idea of Frank Jansen by him in collaboration with Addy Weijers developed. The episodes of Russians were written by a team of writers that included Dick van den Heuvel, Simon de Waal, Stan Lapinski and Addy Weijers. Several directors names episodes on their behalf, but the majority of the episodes was made by Pollo de Pimentel and Anne van der Linden. Even directors like Danniel Danniel, Casper Verbrugge, Gerrard Verhage, Arno Dierckx and Pieter Walther Boer names episodes on their behalf. Director of Photography Mark de Blok NSC. The music is by John High Point.

The Russians name is slang for detectives, whose main focus in the series continues. Solving crimes and catching criminals is less front; it is mainly about the detectives and the dilemmas the personality with which they are confronted.
