And No Birds Sing
Horticultural lecturer Rosemary Boxer is hired by a wealthy but ill businessman to help cure a disease causing his trees to lose their bark. She gets to know Laura Thyme, who turns up after a friend is killed in a suspicious car accident, and when the pair find the lord of the manor unconscious beneath his bedroom window, they must decide whether depression led him to attempt suicide or if there is a more sinister explanation.

Arabica and the Early Spider
The amateur sleuths uncover the remains of a racehorse while engaged on horticultural work in the grounds of pop star Nev Connolly's supposedly haunted mansion. Before long, gruesome revelations are coming thick and fast as Nev is shot dead and more bones are discovered - this time belonging to a young woman. As they investigate further, Rosemary and Laura are plunged into a sinister mystery with roots deep in the past.

The Language of Flowers
Laura and Rosemary are asked to restore an ornate water garden cascade in the grounds of a health spa, where they are invited to join owner Frances Caldecott and her children for dinner. That evening, the duo discover Frances has been strangled and her jewellery stolen, and set out to catch the culprit.

Sweet Angelica
The duo are hired to cure a patchy lawn at a select language school hiding dark secrets. The disappearance of a Polish student alerts them to a tale of passion, rivalry and revenge, and when a handyman is found with his throat cut they race to find the killer.

A Simple Plot
Laura and Rosemary investigate the mysterious death of a blind professor caught up in a bitter battle to save his beloved allotment from an unscrupulous land developer. A heady blend of weedkiller, cannabis and high finance hangs in the air as the duo search for clues - and another body is turned up before they track down the villain.

The Tree of Death
Rosemary and Laura are employed to restore a country churchyard in time for a medieval fair, but it is not long before a local landowner is killed by an arrow beneath an ancient yew in the centre of the graveyard. The duo investigate the possibility that rival bidders for the victim's highly desirable farm are to blame - though affairs of the heart might offer a more likely motive.
