Room Crashers - Season 1

Season 1

Episodes

Moroccan Fireplace Lounge
A disjointed great room is unified with a fireplace overhaul, Moroccan-inspired design, and a flowing floor plan. The living room and dining room once felt split by a hulking stone fireplace, but its ultramodern tile facelift now anchors the two spaces. Add to that textured wall treatments in vibrant colors, a 'floating' sofa, a modern canopy, mood lighting and a cleaner visual line from front door to backyard, and this becomes one stunning Moroccan fireplace lounge!

Master Bedroom Retreat
A chaotic, messy master bedroom gets a major transformation! What was once dirty white carpet, disheveled bed, mix and match furniture and terrible closets is turned into a luxury indoor/outdoor bedroom retreat complete with wood grain tile that runs inside and out, modern bamboo closet system with a television on a lift, an outdoor seating area with a view and modern custom storage columns. Plus, a fabric platform bed is set against custom padded fabric wall panels to create the ultimate master bedroom retreat!

Modern Beach Cottage
A cold and dark paneled family room is transformed and updated with a new ceiling, new floor, and bright colors. Sheldon and Jolene are brand new homeowners. Their 1959 house close to the beach hasn't had any updates. Their family room off the kitchen is straight out of the 70s and doesn't inspire them to entertain. The ceiling is lifted to expose an A frame roof with beams, a maple floor in a herringbone pattern replaces old linoleum, and vibrant, patterned wallpaper, along with whites, and orange and blue accents add a light, beachy look.

Glamorous Music Lounge
A mix and match recording studio in the basement is completely transformed into a high-end professional studio. What was once a basement of old equipment and ugly carpet gets revamped with live edge pine wall slats, warm cork wall paneling and a one of a kind three dimensional wall art piece. Plus, a glowing pop of color takes center stage in this space as a column is lit with red rope light and faced with frosted paneling.

Mid Century Modern Garage
A dark underused garage gets transformed into a mid century modern lounge. The once ugly garage door is replaced by a modern glass garage door that opens up into a new room where these homeowners can entertain, work and relax. Colorful carpet tiles add pops of color over a cold garage floor and a custom Murphy bed creates a space for guests to stay. Plus, the garage now opens up into an inviting outdoor seating area, complete with horizontal slat seating and wall panels and cool steel shade structure.

Rustic Great Room
A blank, divided room is opened up and given new life with the addition of faux beams, a custom barn door, limestone fireplace tiles, hardwood floors, and a painted television frame. Neely lives with her Mom in a one level house that lacked character, color, and texture. A random cut-out wall divided the family room into two unusable spaces. By knocking down the wall, adding French doors, and using wood elements like a poplar door, sandblasted beams, a Douglas fir coffee table and combining those with colors and textures, one great room with a rustic feel was created for comfortable and elegant living and dining.

Modern Tree House Kitchen
Married architects with a small child have been living without a working kitchen for over two years. Down to the studs they were doing dishes in the bathtub and bathroom sinks. In three days, their galley kitchen is built into a sleek, modern, and working kitchen that still keeps touches of its original 50s tree house look. New maple flooring is added, over 170 ceiling planks were installed to give the room a light, bright and open feel; stainless steel appliances were fitted into the cabinets to make everything look like furniture; a yellow accent wall was added to contrast the white; and a combination of engineered stone and butcher block counters were installed. Host Todd Davis did several projects with the homeowners like handmade barstools, an art piece made with a mirror, and hanging indoor terrariums.

Eclectic Party Pad
A 1930s home with great bones and no style had a dining room under construction and a mish mash of a living room because the owner had no defined style. By knocking out the wall between the two rooms it immediately created a better flow for entertaining. The original 2x4s were re-used as custom wine-racks and a frame for around the TV in the living room. An eclectic color scene of bronze, grey, and peacock blue along with handmade lighting transformed the room into an original, exciting, playful Eclectic Party Pad.

Outdoor Family Oasis
A backyard with cracked concrete and minimal greenery gets a complete overhaul and becomes a new room the whole family can enjoy. A pergola, kitchen unit featuring stainless appliances, a custom bar with firebox, a hanging swing, draperies, new trees, new concrete stain, and rich earth tones and neutrals are all added to turn this backyard into a comfortable, cozy outdoor family oasis that is a true extension of the house.

Contemporary Couples Retreat
A dark and cluttered basement is transformed from dingy man cave to contemporary couples retreat with the addition of light, texture and pops of color. By covering a dated brick fireplace with bamboo pulp wall tiles, re-purposing wood paneling and newspaper to create a modern wall treatment and the creation of a bar made from wine staves and wine bottles, the basement becomes a modern and multifunctional space. With the addition of French doors to bring in light and sliding glass door storage walls, clutter is covered and the room becomes a contemporary couples retreat to use for work, cozy evenings and entertaining.

Chic Urban Nest
An unfinished room in an Oakland hills home was just being used for storage. Now it's a master bedroom suite and art loft. With no windows or light before, their new space has walls, windows, bright colored paint like citrine, turquoise, and white, storage benches and baskets, new flooring, custom photo art, and a cut-out into the next room, now changed into an art loft to store craft supplies. Natural, cozy elements that bring the outside in, transform the space into a bright, useable, Chic Urban Nest that family and friends can enjoy.

French Mini Chateau
An unused room is converted into a separate home office with French country flair. A weathered bronze concrete stain is applied to the floor; vertical stripes are painted on to look like wallpaper, and LED curtains on new French doors illuminate the room inside and out. Outside, a separate pathway is created with milk washed pebbles and Adirondack chairs. Inside, clients sit on 100 year old re-upholstered Cabriolet chairs, and a taffeta covered ottoman that provides additional storage. With an exposed beam ceiling, antique chandeliers, a French armoire, and vintage candle-holders, the office becomes the perfect French Mini Chateau.

Platinum Christmas
A dark and outdated family room is updated, brightened up, and merged to create one large room perfect for entertaining a large family. The off center brick fireplace is expanded so it's centered and re-faced with two types of Italian porcelain tile to give it a modern look. A skylight is added to bring natural light into the low and dark ceiling all year round. The carpet is replaced with maple hardwood flooring, and built in storage and seating is added to accommodate a family of over 20. Large custom upholstered loveseats in platinum velvet and two tone blue walls create a neutral and unexpected color palette for the holidays. Christmas decor featuring peacock feathers, blues, greens, and silvers dominate the palette instead of traditional red and gold. It's the perfect, open family room ready for holiday cheer.
