Cool Cymru
This episode of Rewind revisits a cultural movement that began in the late 1990s. Welsh music, film and the arts experienced a cultural resurgence and ‘Cool Cymru' was born.
This was the era of Britpop, but Wales had its very own music scene going on. Stereophonics, Manic Street Preachers and Catatonia were proudly wearing the red dragon of Wales on their sleeve and were making waves across the globe. Super Furry Animals, Gorky's Zygotic Mynci, Feeder and Duffy also made a huge impact on the scene and we celebrate them all as we delve into the BBC archives for this compilation of great Cool Cymru performances.
With big hits such as A Design For Life, Buck Rogers and Mulder and Scully, we remember this golden age of music blasting out of Wales and onto the world stage.

Secret Superstars
As we romp through the TV archives, we reclaim artists for the nation in this playful compilation of performances featuring artists and musicians you might never know were Welsh, or had links to Wales, including Coldplay, U2, and Oasis.

Number 1s
A whistlestop journey through Welsh number one hits, featuring many of Wales's best-loved artists. With music spanning seven decades, kicking off in 1959 with Dame Shirley Bassey's first time at the top of the hit parade and brought up to date with DJ Fresh's dubstep smash, featuring the vocals of Caerphilly's Sian Evans. Along the way, there's also music from Tom Jones, Duffy, Bonnie Tyler, Manic Street Preachers, Stereophonics and a classic from the biggest-selling UK singles artist of the 80s!

Dance Hits
In this special programme, we delve into the BBC archives to bring you some of the best dance music from Wales. From the early days of the 1990s, Welsh musicians were at the forefront of this new movement, producing floor fillers that are now considered classics. Try and find a dance compilation album that doesn't include Underworld's Born Slippy. From house to techno to drum 'n' bass, we've got you covered with performances from the past four decades. Artists featured include K-Klass, High Contrast, Nomad and Kosheen.
