In this episode we learn of Moonglo and her job as beautifier of the night. She and her Sprite, Nite Sprite, have the responsibility of making the moon and stars shine brightly at night and make people happy even when they can't see bright colors. Moonglo and Nite Sprite have the power to turn invisible when they're working hard. Unfortunately Murky and Lurky don't enjoy the gorgeous nights. They prefer everything to be dark and gloomy. And they come up with a plan to capture Moonglo and take away her power so that the nights will never be beautiful again. Murky sprays Moonglo with his awful gloom cloud and are able to capture her. She turns invisible to try and trick him but he just sprays her with the cloud again. They didn't take Nite Sprite with them but he did get shot with the gloom cloud and it knocked him out. Later on that night Rainbow and the Color Kids begin to notice that the stars aren't coming out. They know something must be wrong because Moonglo would never let a night
