Dr. Rossi escorts Rachel to the police station where Elliot glares at her without an ounce of forgiveness. Rossi reminds him that Rachel is sick, and she did return Matthew without harm, but Elliot isn't swayed. Steven and Rossi interview Rachel, who tells them the story of how she found the bracelet. She confuses this event with the death of her parents in a fire. Rossi realizes that as a child, Rachel accidentally started the fire that took the lives of her mother and father. She then went to live with her sadistic aunt, who tortured her about the fire. Rachel asks why everyone keeps calling her ""Rachel"" when her name is ""Allison"". Rossi explains that Rachel's desire to be loved was so great that she assumed Allison's identity to gain Connie and Elliot's love. Steven prepares to send Rachel to a mental hospital outside of Peyton Place. Rodney visits her at the courthouse. He promises that he'll come and visit her. Still thinking herself to be Allison, Rachel asks why he loved Betty
