Bookseller Maria encounters an old rival - both her affair Max, and her father are just waiting for her to lose her temper. Things escalate - and lead to a surprising encounter.

Strike
After the argument with Johanna Augustin, Maria decides to write a book herself - easier said than done. And then her former best friend Nikki gets in touch. Maria avoids her problems and invites herself to go bowling with Sophie and her friends. Ralf spends the evening with his daughters, Lily and Lotta, trying to save what's left of his family.

Maria tries to come to terms with an unpleasant truth about Max. Her father also surprises her with an unexpected confession. Even the unwanted psychological advice from dog trainer Hakan doesn't help. And Ralf also has to deal with some bad news that changes his entire life - he gathers the whole family together for a big dinner...

Ralf wants to become a new man. Nikki forces Maria to have a day of reconciliation. They all end up at the "Holistic Healing Hatzfeld" wellness center at the same time: While Ralf and his friend Jochen face a dramatic firewalk there, Maria tries to avoid a serious conversation with Nikki. Will Maria and Ralf finally meet here?

Max and Nikki's wedding is on the rocks, but Maria wants to save it - and finally draw a line under it and concentrate on her career as an author. Ralf has to take care of Schopenhauer's funeral - until he realizes that he has to stop the wedding.

After the scandal at the wedding, Maria flees to Cologne to talk to the publisher about her book idea. After a promising start, however, the conversation goes completely off the rails. Just a few streets away, Ralf says goodbye to his daughter Lily as she embarks on her future life as a student. A fateful coincidence?

Maria and Ralf try to understand what happened in Cologne. Meanwhile, Marburg is preparing for the city festival and a big comeback: The legendary Chaos-Pendulum is back! The ride on which Maria and Ralf almost met years ago. The brilliant finale?

The Big Fat Quiz
The Big Fat Quiz is an annual British television programme broadcast on the last Sunday of the year on Channel 4. Essentially, the show is a comedy panel show in the style of a pub quiz. Three teams, of two celebrities each, are asked questions relating to the events of the year just gone by, which they write answers to on an electronic board in front of them. At the end of each round, they then display their answers, scoring a point for each correct one. The first edition was broadcast in December 2004. There has been another at the end of each year since, as well as a special edition in November 2007 for Channel 4's 25th anniversary celebrations.
