"Parallel Rotation" is a two-part film about figure skater Alena Kostornaya, who started her career from scratch after winning gold at the European Championships. Everyone expected her to win an Olympic medal, but a series of injuries and controversial decisions almost led to her leaving the sport. Alena did not give up and went into pair skating, where her previous achievements mean nothing.
