Eight more athletics gold medals were decided, including in the heptathlon and 4x100m relays. In cycling, the women's madison and men's sprint reached a dramatic conclusion, while it was all to play for in the men's football final at the Parc des Princes. Diving, table tennis and hockey each found new inductees to their Olympic halls of fame too on another star-studded day in Paris.
