A federal judge called Trump administration arguments a "heck of a stretch" in a court hearing late Monday. The Trump administration says it has complied with a court order during its deportation of nearly 300 undocumented migrants it says are criminal members of violent gangs. NBC News' Kelly O'Donnell reports. President Trump will speak with Russia's President Putin tomorrow as part of his efforts to end the war in Ukraine. Ukraine has already agreed to Trump's 30-day ceasefire plan, but Putin has cast doubts about it. NBC News' Keir Simmons reports from inside Russia. The Department of Justice has been appealing rulings that do not go the Trump administration's way, while officials are making statements that they don't believe some of the court orders are legitimate. NBC News' Laura Jarrett reports. Police say Joshua Riibe, an American tourist from Iowa, was with Sudikhsa Konanki just before she vanished. While police say no suspects have been identified in Konanki's disappearance, Riibe's lawyers say he has been confined to his hotel and escorted by police everywhere he goes. Now, a source in the Dominican Republic's attorney general's office tells NBC News that Riibe's lawyers have filed a petition for habeas corpus, which is generally used to argue for release from detention. NBC News' Jesse Kirsch reports from the Dominican Republic. Forever 21, known for trendy fast fashion pieces, has filed for bankruptcy. The final sales in its stores are offering steep discounts as the company liquidates its assets. As NBC News' Brian Cheung reports, in part the company cites pressure from online Chinese retailers for its demise.
