Two people died in Plainfield, NJ as the car they were in was swept away by floodwaters. One animal shelter was devastated by the water and others today are saying they are lucky to be alive after being rescued. NBC News' Erin McLaughlin reports. House Speaker Mike Johnson, a top Trump ally, called on the Justice Department to release the Jeffrey Epstein files. President Trump praised Attorney General Pam Bondi, who is facing growing pressure from some Trump supporters. NBC News' Kelly O'Donnell reports. Opening statements got underway today in the murder trial of 47-year old James Craig. Prosecutors allege Craig poisoned his wife Angela and say Craig's online searches about poisonous substances are just some of the key pieces of evidence they will present during the trial. Craig has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder and other charges. NBC News' Sam Brock reports. President Trump warned Ukraine not to strike Moscow with the military aid that the U.S. will begin sending soon. All of it is sparking sharp reactions inside Russia. NBC News' Keir Simmons reports. After the American Academy of Pediatrics recommended the use of certain GLP-1 weight loss drugs in January of 2023, the use among children skyrocketed by 65% immediately and has continued to grow since. NBC News' Kate Snow has more on what age experts say these drugs can be used by children.
