A bipartisan policy center reports that 1.4 million civilian federal employees missed their first full paycheck today as the government shutdown continues with no clear end in sight. NBC News' Tom Costello reports. Authorities in Massachusetts are investigating what caused a crane collapse in the city of Everett. Officials stated that two people died as a result of the collapse.
