Attorney General Pam Bondi said that her top deputy expects to speak with Ghislaine Maxwell, the convicted associate of notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The House Oversight Committee has also passed a Republican-led motion to subpoena Maxwell. NBC News' Peter Alexander reports. Actor Malcolm-Jamal Warner was found unresponsive in the ocean, after he was swept away in a strong rip current, according to Costa Rican officials. Warner was pulled onto a surfboard by a trained lifeguard who was there to surf, according to a volunteer lifeguard organization. Despite the efforts of bystanders and first responders, Warner could not be revived. NBC News' Jesse Kirsch reports. NBC News' Stephanie Gosk reports on the Miami church that has had dozens of people come ask about their stolen smartphones. The church is not involved, but for some reason, the missing phones are pinging at its location. As the August 1st tariff deadline approaches, President Trump said on social media that the U.S. and the Philippines have reached a trade deal.
