Nashville house flipper, Troy Dean Shafer, renovates homes in historic communities throughout Nashville, Tennessee. Reviving historic homes is as important to Troy as is accomplishing a financially sound flip. As with many of the old homes he acquires there are always unforeseen challenges, because one never really knows what one has until they begin pulling back the years of neglect. Facing all those challenges and more, Troy calls upon designer friend, Alex Cirimelli, to help tackle this 1932 Craftsman style bungalow. The bungalow features a stairway that seems to be nothing more than a code-clashing and design roadblock. Turning this code-defying set of stairs into a 'Stairway to Heaven' may just be the answer Troy and Alex have been looking for and the key to the most successful flip they've ever shared.

Folk Victorian Near Nashville

This L-shaped house features a practical layout typical of the early 20th century, but doesn't really lend itself to today's buyer.

Railroad Revival
Located in an area developed around the local railroad yard, this property was home to a family with generations who worked at those yards. Troy and Julie work together to create a historically accurate house, but also with all the amenities a modern family desires.

The Beast from the East

The two story three bedroom, two bath home will be transformed into a three bedroom three bath dream cottage making this home a showpiece for both Troy and Juli.

A Craftsman Comeback

Located in a thriving part of town known as East Nashville, this property was originally built in 1923, and has undergone layers renovations with budget materials that stripped this house of its authentic charm and character. Troy and Julie work together to take out the new, restore the old, and replenish some of the history and dignity a true craftsman home of this age deserves. They do their best to return this home back to it's original beauty, creating a historically accurate house that will also appeal to today's buyers.

Minimal Madison Mansion

The restored outdoor decorative barn, and the new fire pit and farm table is sure to appeal to any future homeowner

Germantown Gem
Troy calls upon designer friend, Julie Couch, for some much needed help in reviving this property originally built in 1910. Their goal is to transform it from an eyesore into a fabulous Folk Victorian home that will attract a host of prospective buyers to this emerging part of Nashville known as Buena Vista.

Royal Renovation
Troy transforms the once impressive Queen Anne style living and dining rooms to their former glory, while the remaining layout of the house will be transformed into a master suite. With a newly exposed front porch and traditional details preserved throughout, this Queen Anne style home is sure catch the eye of the perfect buyer.

Farmhouse Refresh
Troy and Julie Couch transform this derelict farmhouse into a charming home just outside of Nashville. Together, they face the unforeseen challenges that come out of the woodwork, literally, when flipping a property originally built in 1875. Their talents - and patience - are put to the test as they attempt to erase 140 years of aging and create a charming property that still retains it's heritage.
