My Wonderful Life is thought to be the first show to focus on the emotionally charged 'legacy' aspect of terminal illness by following people approaching the end of life and giving them the gift of goodbye. While sad at times it is also heart-warming and funny and aims to encourage people to talk about dying, death and bereavement more openly. The series is narrated by the acclaimed British actress Julie Walters and is four episodes long with each episode focusing on a different person and the people in their lives.

Best friends Tomma, Barry and Mal are rightly apprehensive about what their former cabbie colleague, and renowned practical joker, has in store for them. But first, Lee has some home truths. Oldest friend Leanne is blown away by a birthday surprise from beyond the grave. Lee has a special message of thanks for local charity, Cancer Connections, who helped him and his family come to terms with his diagnosis. And Lee's arranged for all his friends and family to come together to help deliver one last surprise to the love of his life, wife Heather.
