Twilight Sparkle and her new friends go on an adventure to stop Nightmare Moon's plan for never-ending nighttime. They must travel to the Castle of the Two Sisters and gather the Elements of Harmony.

Twilight Sparkle decides on who to take to the pony gala, since she has an extra ticket. When the other ponies catch word, they pull out all the stops to convince her to take them.

Applejack stubbornly vows to perform the orchard harvest herself, despite driving herself to disruptive exhaustion.

A griffon friend of Rainbow Dash comes to visit, but proves to be a cruel bully.
